Build for Health Mexico 2018

In May of 2018, Sperro volunteers partnered with Elda Madai, a Mexican not-for-profit, to build a medical clinic near La Esperanza, a rural village in San Luis Potosí. Previously, getting medical assistance there was very difficult, as the nearest hospital was over 2 hours away. Volunteers from Elda Madai and Sperro worked to build a medical clinic to make essential care available to everyone in this region. As of 2020, Elda Madai is continuing to expand the clinic, and are seeing patients within its walls.

Local Volunteering in toronto

Sperro works to create local volunteer events for those who want to help our local communities in and around Toronto. We have participated in events such as handing out care packages to homeless citizens, planting trees, organizing shoreline cleanups, held clothing swaps, and many other events. One of our larger events was the 2015 Toronto Bubble Ball Festival, which we organized to raise money for our humanitarian project in Belize.

All in for Bosnia 2016

In May 2016, Sperro volunteers partnered with ADRA BIH to construct a community centre near the city of Jajce, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This community centre is currently used to host events for kids, classes, summer camps and as a gathering place. Sperro and ADRA BIH volunteers visited and assisted many community members during their time in and around Jajce.

Build for Belize 2015

In May 2015, Sperro volunteers traveled to the small village of Carmelita in Belize to partner with the MOVE Training School, a local non-profit. While there, the volunteers constructed a home for a local family who had been been living in a dwelling too small for their family’s size. Sperro volunteers also provided children’s clothes, school supplies and hygiene products to local community members. Health and nutritional classes were also provided to the villagers by Sperro volunteers with medical experience.

Home for Honduras 2014

In May of 2014, Sperro volunteers traveled to Peña Blanca, Honduras to work with the Pan American Health Service, an established non-profit in Honduras which operates a facility that houses children in need. Volunteers conducted various construction and social projects for the children staying at the Pan Am Health Service, and around for local community members. The volunteers also donated a large amount of school supplies, children’s clothing and medication for the local clinic, which is also operated by the Pan Am Health Service.
